The WaveBird is a wireless gaming controller for the GameCube console, and was released in 2002.

Features Edit

  • The WaveBird controller comes supplied with a receiver, which plugs into the controller port on the front of the GameCube console.
  • The WaveBird uses radio frequency (RF) signals to transmit to the console, this was Nintendo's first RF controller. Early wireless controller systems such as the NES Satellite had used Infrared, which had many technical limitations such as requiring a direct line of sight with the receiver.
